Discussed changes made by Alan on what was formally user preferences and viz features. These settings have been organized into 3 sub tabs (Viz features, App Settings, and Startup) under a Settings tab. Agreed to distinction between App Settings and Startup. The latter is for things that only take effect after the user has restarted the application. The former are items that have immediate effect, and optionally may be saved as default settings in the user session file.
- The "Apply" button on the Settings/Startup tab should be renamed to "Save" or "Make default". If the user tries to leave the Settings/Startup tab he should be warned that settings will be lost.
- The "Save" button on the Settings/AppSettings should be changed to "Make default" or something else that is consistent throughout the application whenever we allow a user to save a parameter has a default.
We will discuss error handling at the next meeting.
