This hasn't been working since I've started checking data. I assume that it is the old I2C issue on the Pi.
@Gary: should we replace this DSM? If not, is it set up to use another NTP server?

It hasn't worked since the project started. I don't know what causes the GPS to sometimes look like binary garbage. This is not the I2C problem where sometimes the messages have a few bad characters.
So instead I modified this system on 2018-09-18 22:06:53 UTC to use uconv1 and uconvm as time servers, and that's working fine.
I guess you can replace it if you want, but the only harm from it right now is the recording of lots of garbage GPS data, and there's no reason we can't just turn that off and save the spare DSMs for something else.
