Shuttle Service between Supercomputing Center and Downtown Cheyenne
Description:
UCAR/NCAR would provide a shuttle service from downtown Cheyenne to the supercomputing center. The shuttle would increase accessibility of the center for visitors and members of the community. This idea would be coupled with a kiosk downtown and information at the tourism center.
Benefits:
Employees would have a shuttle to the downtown area. Visitors could board the shuttle and visit the center. An added benefit would be the opportunity to "walk the talk" and make the center as green as possible by offering alternative transportation.
UCAR/NCAR's role:
UCAR/NCAR would initiate putting the shuttle in place. Hopefully costs could be shared or covered by the city, or sponsors.
External roles:
The city of Cheyenne might be interested in running the shuttle.
Timeframe:
Open. Could be implemented late in the process, once the need is established.
Life Span:
As long as there is demand.
Research Conducted:
Reviewed the UCAR Transportation Alternatives Program.
