SIPNET

SIPNET background information

SIPNET is a simplified version of the PnET ecosystem model. SIPNET has been designed specifically for the assimilation of eddy covariance flux data (CO2 and H2O fluxes). After assimilation, the model yields optimal predictions of CO2 and H2O fluxes at a half-daily time step. The model currently runs only in point mode (where the spatial domain - i.e. the size of the "point" - is defined as the tower footprint), but a spatial version is being developed, which will use satellite observations of FPAR and/or GPP in the assimilation. The role of SIPNET in the ACME project will be to provide initial guess flux values for RAMS.
