Today was spent trying to remedy the intermittent boot issue with DSM 305. The CPU was replaced with two alternates...
The first replacement CPU required a password to login/ssh which we did not have.
The second replacement CPU only booted when hooked up to the Serial to USB Adapter, but also required a USB cable coming out the end of the adapter going to a computer of some sort. We used the server... (console>serial cable>adapter>usb cable>server) This was a step backwards.
I decided to revert back to the original CPU. When tested it booted successfully with just the Serial to USB Adapter. (console>serial cable>adapter)
