Background information for single-executable, concurrent CCSM
- Discover what has been done on this project to date
- Contacted Brian Kauffman for background info 11/30/2005
- Contacted Rob Jacob (BlueGene experience) 12/1/2005
(pop1.4.3 compiles on bluejean; pop2.0 does not yet). - Followed up on an e-mail from Rob Jacob and Ray Loy; the pop2 compilation problem may be a simple matter of replacing a rogue pop1 file with its pop2 counterpart 12/2/2005
- Rob and Ray are now in contact with John Dennis and are collaborating on getting stand-alone pop2 on the gx1v3 grid running on the Argonne BG/L 12/7/2005
- Contacted Frank Brian: John Dennis is successfully running pop2 on BlueGene; he could be a good resource for Rob Jacob (12/2/2005)
- Contacted Helen He (12/2/2005). Helen agreed to be the developmental lead on this project. We will talk on Monday, 5 December to discuss how to procede.
- Spoke with Helen He and agreed to a project plan. Nancy will summarize the phases of the project plan and will post them to the wiki by Friday (12/5/2005)
- Pop2 running at Argonne (12/16/2005)
</ul> - Find out about SciDAC procedures for collaboation on CCSM projects
- Contacted John Drake (12/1/2005)
- Updated everyone on the project background and plan during the SciDAC conference call (12/5/2005)
- Determine project requirements (Frank Bryan, 12/2/2005)

- use CCSM scripts (modified as needed)
- run on the BlueGene architecture
