Overview
The VAPOR team is currently engaged in parallel development efforts: 1. on-going development of the publicly released 2.x package; and 2. development of the yet-to-be-released 3.x package. Version 2.x of VAPOR has a release cycle of approximately one year for "feature" releases: new versions of the package that offer significant new capability. Typically feature releases occurs in November in sync with our on-going KISTI grant. Release candidate 0 of VAPOR version 2.5 will be available by November 30, 2015. Notable new features include:
- Support for MPAS and ICON model outputs
- Stereoscopic display
- High resolution "tiled" cartographic maps
- Parallel data conversion scripts
- Numerous improvements to vaporgui renderers
