Point: These fundamental concepts lind to other essential principles and should reinforce the system approach
Fundamental Concepts:
- Patterns of circulation can be observed at different levels from the global to local. The spin of the Earth and difference in atmos. heating/pressure establish the basic circulation.
- The atmos. transports water vapor and particles that impact the formation of precipitation. It is component important of the global water cycle.
- Circultaion(s) distribute energy, water, gases, particles, globally establishing climate, weather, and upper atmos. patterns that impact life (air quality, droughts, floods, wildfire, sever storms,satellite and comm. systems, pwr. grids
- Energy exchanges occur at the atmospheric boundaries which in turn have an interface with the ocean, land, space and sun. These energy exchanges drive circulation(s)."
- Matter exchanges at the atmos. boundaries affect other important cycles that are essential to life (carbon cycle, nitrogen, cycle, potosynthesis
