Backwards runs ending at Niwot

Figures that were actually used for flight planning:

  • 4:30 AM sawtooth flight planning: Mean of predictions given by ETA 12km, MM5 15km, RUC for particles over Niwot at 051420, backwards 4 hours [modelcompare("niwot","051420",c(0,-4,-8))]:
  • Post-morning-flight corrections to afternoon downwind flight: Performed forward runs starting from center point of sawtooth at 9 AM, 10 AM and 11 AM, running forwards to 1 PM, 2 PM, 3 PM, 4 PM. Used results from MM5 15 km (combination of good resolution and most recently-updated), 10 AM (time of actual sampling; yellow cloud) - 2 PM (closest to Niwot) prediction:
