"The overall purpose of this research task is to identify opportunities to improve air traffic workflow and safety, as well as meet user needs, through the use of evolving mobile technologies. Specifically, the objective of the research task is to determine the feasibility, utility, and benefits of making meteorological (MET) information more accessible and useful on mobile devices for use by flight crews and select Traffic Flow Management (TFM) personnel. ... This research task will also assess the capability of mobile MET applications to enhance situational awareness between aircraft and TFM in oceanic and remote regions."
